Allow me to re-introduce you to Nature.
Terry Dennis founded Kaya-Pêche in 2018 out of a passion for the outdoors. Originally from the island of Tobago in the West Indies, Terry spent his younger days watching elders commune with the sea. Building bamboo rafts, he and comrades would also set sail to imitate the regions stronger fishermen & women.
“We didn’t grow up wanting to become movie stars or basketball players, we watched those around us maneuver boats and apply fishing techniques that we only hoped to emulate, one day”.
Canada might offer a different landscape than the Caribbean, but Dennis is constantly reminded that the outdoors is a broad and uneven space that requires for us to adapt. With that, he sees no obstacle.
He structures his business to offer adventurers the best experience based on the four seasons Quebec offers us.
There is a tranquility that can only be found in our proximity to water.
Terry Dennis knows that all too well and offers kayaking adventures for guests to enjoy that feeling. “Other than the bamboo rafts I built as a young man, kayaks allow us to be as close to water as possible”.
This is an activity that Kaya-Pêche invites you to have in a small group so, whether you want to expand your man cave to the outdoors or get some friends to try something new. This is the vibe!
Fishing lends itself to any season and is often categorized as a sport. Fishing the Kaya-Pêche way however, exceeds that aspect. The experience entails a trip aboard the Kaya-Pêche big wheeler with a tour guide explanation of the best locations to fish at the time, the regulations to follow, the techniques to ensure the best results, the scoop on the fish that is in season and, if time is of the essence and the weather permits, a Tobago style outdoor cookout to eat the days’ provisions. What's a product or service you'd like to show.
I am a fisherman. I was born a fisherman. I grew up in a fishing village and I carried my passion with me from Tobago to Quebec.
Back home, my heroes were the elders that went out to fish and came back with loads of fish.
Through watching them, I sharpened my skill and learned different fishing techniques: spear fishing, rock fishing, boat fishing and shore fishing. I want to teach the art of this sport to both young and old and I want to teach people to embrace outdoor adventures no matter the seaon.
We love our customers, so feel free to visit during normal business hours.
